✨”Be Fearless In The Pursuit Of What Sets Your Soul On Fire”✨
10 years ago I started this bakery to fill a need for gluten free treats that were more than ‘good enough’. I have shared some amazing moments with so many of you…birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, baby showers, holidays and so much more. We have been able to contribute to so many wonderful charities and causes and send a few kids to camp where they were able to enjoy a week of fun without worry of becoming sick.
Today I come to you to announce that I will be closing Tina’s Sweet Treats as of October 19th. This has not been an easy decision and I know many of you will have questions…I will do my best to answer any you have.
I have been beyond grateful at how we were able to not only survive but thrive during the last 6 months thanks to all of you. My employees took a cut in hours for a short period of time and then we were back to the normal crazy around here to the point that we have been overwhelmed and having a hard time keeping up. This left me with a hard decision to make…either put more money into hiring several more employees and moving into a larger space with more equipment or shut down. A failed project for the bakery/restaurant hit me hard and had me questioning my own life path. I am reminded every day of my mom’s favorite quote, Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire. I feel my life is now going in a different direction and with all of this, I have decided to put my time and effort into the possibility of a new business venture.
We are going to spend the next month keeping stores stocked and taking orders for pickup at the bakery and farmers’ markets again so that anyone who would like to stock up and freeze your favorite items can do so. Tomorrow Abby will be posting all the details (along with a special surprise) on our social media and website. I will also be doing a Thanksgiving menu which will be released on October 19th.
For now, I want to extend a thank you to the following…to my family for their sacrifices so that I may pursue my dreams…to my friends who have stood by me and continue to believe in me…to all of the employees who have been a part of this journey, without you I wouldn’t have come as far as I have…to Jungle Jim’s for believing in us from the beginning and being our first wholesale partner…to Ghostlight Coffee for showing me that a small business is more than a product, it’s caring about each and every customer and the community…to the following for allowing us an outlet to serve our customers: Dorothy Lane Market, Clifton Market, Rolling Mill Brewery, Ele Cake, Straight Shot Coffee, Epic Coffee, This Old Couch, This Old Farmers’ Market, Family Bean Coffee Truck, Vitori’s Market, Champion City, Wittenburg University, Phileo Artisan Bakery, Keener Farms Butcher Block, Celebrate Local, Market Wagon, Gluten Free for Cincinnati and Springfield Farmers’ Market…lastly, my biggest thank you goes out to all of you who have supported us by purchasing our products and spreading the word of our bakery over the years! I have had the pleasure to get to know so many of you personally and you will always be a part of my heart!!!
I DON’T KNOW WHERE I’M GOING FROM HERE, BUT I PROMISE IT WON’T BE BORING.
